• I violently shook my head, snapping myself out of it. Of course I couldn't. I'd just been caught off guard, that was all. What I needed was some fresh air, outside, away from my crazy sister. The cold, winter air would do me good and keep her away. Rolling onto my feet, I made my way back downstairs, cautiously pausing at the bottom as I listened intently. After a brief wait, I heard Molly talking with our mom from the direction of the kitchen, letting me know I was all clear to make a break down the hallway and through the living room to reach my goal unnoticed.
